Majestic trees

The reason behind the title of this blog is because oaks can become majestic trees, strong, sturdy, and have life in it.  Oaks produce fruits that squirrels and chipmunks will feed off.   Oaks can also welcome birds and their little ones in their branches.
I like the idea of oaks so much that I decided to name my home school Oak Grove Academy.  I want my kids to stand strong on the Word of God, to follow the Lord wherever He will take them and to trust Him with every aspects of their lives.   I want my kids to plant seeds of hope around them, show the love of God through their actions and become a beacon of light for others in this dark world.    I want my kids to be open to anything God will bring on their plates.   I want my kids to have compassion for others and be willing to sacrifice what they have for the ones who need it.

My kids had some money put aside.  But when disaster stroke Haiti, they wanted to do something for the people there or anyone in need.   This week-end, we went on the Samaritan's Purse website and clicked on their Canadian catalogue.   They bought small animals as well as Bibles and Gospel Storybooks for Children.   We also added gift of good health for a family as well as support a church and pastor.

The kids first question was "Are we going to receive the animals, feed them and then send it to the poor?"   So cute.  We told them the animals will go directly to the people in need.

Now, they are working hard around the house without us asking so they can get more money to spend to help the poor.  Over the week-end, while we were busy with something else, we heard the vacuum.   They were cleaning the first floor so they can get more money for the poor.  Priceless.

I'm proud of my kids.   I pray God will continue to guide them and speak to them.

Dominic and his friends

Last night at AWANA, Dominic got the phone number of another little girl and he in turn gave his phone number.   Cute...  but honestly I have mixed feelings about this.   It is a bit early for this....

So this morning, he came to me with the phone and the phone number and wanted to call her.   It was 7am!

I told him to wait because it was too early.  And I wanted to do homeschool before.

Right now, as they watched the DVD from Bibleman I received to review, the phone rang.

I didn't recognized the phone number.   I answer and this little voice asked "Hello.  This is Josephine from Sparks.  May I speak with Dominic please?"   Very nicely asked...

So Dominic talked for about a couple of minutes to Josephine and they hung up.  They talked about Bibleman because he was watching it for the first time.   She has a lot of different ones.

In our fridge - Free Danone Dan Active x 3

So last night, before we drove to AWANA, we stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up some milk. And here's the adventure we had...

When we parked, we saw a trailer of Dan Active parked next to the front door of the store. The people in it were quite friendly and let us (all six of us) get a sample of Dan Active. The kids love it but honestly it is a bit expensive to get this kind of drinkable yogourt with probiotics in it. So they drank and one of the guys asked if they could take a picture of us with the other reps. We said yes. After the picture was taken, the guy gave us a pack of Dan Active. Cool! Then my two oldest sons wanted to use the spin game and answer the question they would get. Well both of then got the right answers and both receive a pack of Dan Active. So we ended up having 3 FREE packs of Dan Active drinkable yogourt with probiotics in it.

And since we were low in yogourt in this household - the free packs were a blessings.

How cool is that?

Now if only the packs could last more than a week.....
