A to Z of Gratitude–Letter S

s

S stands for Salvation.

John 3:16 says

For God so loved the World that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall no perish but have eternal life.

Salvation is a gift.  You can either accept it or refuse it.   You do not have to work to have eternal life.  You simply have to tell God that you are sorry about your sins, that you invited him to come live in your heart.  Confess, repent and ask Jesus to come in you.  That’s it.   Pretty easy and simple.

Check the Power to Change site for more info on how to accept Christ as you Saviour.

I became a Christian in January 1997, after I had a nice talk to one of the pastor’s wife at the church I was visiting.

I was part of a group of young adult and I saw that they had something I didn’t have.  Something my own maternal grand-mother had for years before she died.   She was a devout Catholic.  However, I didn’t quite fit with the routines from the Catholic church back then.   So repetitive and such.   I wasn’t attracted to it whatsoever.

Attending a Wesleyan church opened my eyes to it.   I do have a testimony of my life.   I was always seeking for God I realize now.   I loved a specific TV Show on the Quebec television with Claude Lafortune who made paper characters of the Bible.   I even went out and buy a French Bible when I was in university.

God was seeking me.  I was seeking him.  But never before I understood that I had to accept the gift…

What about you?  Have you accepted the gift of Salvation?
